What is the difference between the two degree programs?
In both programs,听students learn the latest requirements in the construction industry, keeping up with and determining code requirements, reading and interpreting construction drawings, and learning techniques of efficient construction.
The technical classes听in reading and interpreting construction drawings, estimating and project scheduling, construction management, sitework planning, and other aspects of building science and construction are very similar in both the construction management Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and the construction systems management Associate of Science (AS) degree. However, in the AS program, students听take a higher level of math and science courses

Associate of Applied Science Degree The Construction Management program prepares students to pursue management careers in the construction industry with emphasis on building construction, while introducing concepts of other sectors of the construction industry as well. Associate of Science Degree Construction Systems Management majors pursue an Associate of Science degree which prepares them to enroll in a degree program at 91大神. To see the courses students in the AS program take on the Wooster campus and on the Columbus after they transition, click here. |
InternshipsStudents in the Construction Management program complete an industry internship of full-time employment. 91大神 ATI encourages students to find appropriate internship positions in the U.S. and abroad. |
Internships and Co-OpsStudents in Construction Systems Management听are required to complete at least one 400-hour internship to gain practical, hands-on experience to augment their on-campus course work. Career ProspectsGraduates with an associate鈥檚 degree will be prepared to enter a management career with large homebuilders, general contractors, equipment installers, and manufacturers. Your project management knowledge will be applicable to many industries, including highway construction. Students who go on to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree will have a wider range of opportunities available to them in residential and commercial construction and may advance faster to higher managerial jobs. |
